Circulation in Steering Committee

Following submission of your proposal, the project will be circulated in the relevant VISTA Steering Committee for review and feedback. This is an opportunity to receive constructive peer-review on your proposal. At this stage, Steering Committee members with appropriate experience in the research area may opt to join your research team to offer expert advice.

Feedback & Approval

Following feedback from the Steering Committee, you will be sent a variable request form, where you will be asked to outline the specific variables that are required for you to complete your analysis. Data will be compiled on the basis of availability of your pre-specified variables.

Access

Access to your dataset will be granted through a secure online analysis platform, administered by the Robertson Centre for Biostatistics. Data will be accessible using a username and password. This will be issued to named investigators. You will be able to specify the analysis package that you plan to use for your study. We will aim to make data available to you in an appropriate format within the analysis platform. Data will be available to you and your group for a pre-specified analysis period.

VISTA Publication Policy

Completion of Analysis

We encourage publication of results. All papers and abstracts should be accompanied by the by-line “on behalf of the VISTA Collaborators*.” A full list of Steering Committee members from the appropriate VISTA subsection should be listed in an appendix. This appendix should appear in the main body of the manuscript text after the conclusion and before the references. A full list of Steering Committee members is available below. All papers and abstracts generated as a result of analyses should be reviewed by the relevant Steering Committee prior to submission. Abstracts and manuscripts can be emailed to vista.coordinator@glasgow.ac.uk.
