VISTA-Health Economics
Established in 2021, the VISTA Health Economics dataset contains a compilation of information about resource use/costs, quality of life and health outcomes, medications and productivity after stroke from trials that have been submitted to VISTA.

Costs of health care and societal costs due to stroke are considerable. Data on patient demographics, clinical characteristics, treatments, patient outcomes, health services utilised and other societal costs (carer impacts and loss of productivity) have been catalogued from across the trials held in VISTA. Researchers are able to request the data drawn from these various trials to answer health economics questions related to stroke.

Data can be used to:

  • Investigate cost-effectiveness of therapies for patients with stroke
  • Investigate costs after stroke in patient subgroups
  • Describe costs and quality adjusted life years based on patient characteristics (e.g. age) and outcomes (e.g. disability levels)
  • Assess differences in quality adjusted life years after stroke as part of economic evaluations
  • Inform economic models investigating the cost-effectiveness of therapies
